Nah, 1957. Buddy Holly, Elvis, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, etc., etc.

1977 not too shabby, except for SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. Donna Summer and Kraftwerk and other dance music more than fine.1957 was a lot bigger than solely early rockers, as well. There are few actually non-impressive years...

A pretty good year.
1957? Pretty good year also but none of these artists really developed any farther and Fats Domino never did anything for me.

1961 has always been a favorite with me - I was 12 and really getting into music - but 1957 is pretty darn good.
